Welcome to The Stags Head, a timeless haven nestled in the heart of Exmoor National Park. We are located in the beautiful medieval village of Dunster, near Minehead in Somerset.
The Stags Head re-opened after being closed for several months.  Nigel &Janie, are the proud new owners.   We have long dreamed of being a part of this beautiful village and its community.  Our dream became a reality, and we moved into Dunster in July 2023. We are joined by our close friends Ringo and Pepper. We all share a great love for The Stags, and have the same goal: to bring it back to life. 

When we moved into the Stags Head in July 2023, the building was tired and calling out for a new lease of life.

 Seeing the work ahead of us, we decided to reopen in phases.   So we set about phase 1, which was to reopen the bar so we could welcome the village and holidaymakers back. The bar has been a great success and is enjoyed by old and new friends.  When we came here, Nigel and I wanted to offer live music for everyone to enjoy and showcase the excellent musicians here in Somerset.  Since opening, we have been lucky to have many bands & local musicians play here.  Please check out our Facebook page for all future music nights or pop in and see our 'What's On board.'

Phase 2 was to reopen our Kitchen.
UPDATE 2025:  Our Kitchen is now open for evening food service from 5.30 pm. We are not currently serving food at lunchtimes. From October to April, our evening food service days change; please call or email for current food service days and times.

 Phase 3 was to reopen our B&B. 
UPDATE 2025: This will be open from 2026.
